Skin Needling also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, was originally created by plastic surgeons as a way to rejuvenate the skin. The way skin needling works is by creating micro injuries on the skin that triggers the body’s natural healing process called collagen synthesis (the creation of collagen). Skin Needling causes microscopic breaks in the blood vessels immediately below the epidermis (surface layer of the skin). This releases blood platelets that are responsible for blood clotting similar to if you had cut your self.
